Biden Found Stuffing “Anomalies” Into $3.5 Trillion Bill – They’re Quietly Slipping Liberal Perks Into The Package

From the beginning, President Joe Biden’s ambitious government funding bill was controversial. Critics said it was less about infrastructure and more about serving a liberal wish list.

And though we’ve already seen evidence of some of these leftist goodies, it seems the White House isn’t done. Reports are rolling in that Biden’s team continues to add more to the bill.

Now they want certain items funded that aren’t ever included under normal circumstances.

The situation is grim: the federal government will be out of money on September 30. This means there must be negotiations between the White House and congressional Republicans.

Democrats plan to attach a debt ceiling increase, but Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has already promised to oppose the idea.

That’s one big stumbling block. But the other is the inclusion of many “anomalies” that apparently shouldn’t be there.

The report first arose at Punchbowl News, where a laundry list of items and provisions have come to light. Just about all of them cater to the far-left crowd, and some have recently slipped in.

As Breitbart summarized:

…the Biden White House continues to prepare a list of ‘anomalies’ that they will want funded as part of any continuing resolution (CR) that a CR does not usually fund.

The White House will send the list of their priorities to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees likely sometime this week.

“Does not usually fund” is the part that’s making headlines.

Democrats have been accused of circumventing the law to get what they want, and this seems to be another example of the left doing whatever is necessary to get their agenda passed.

The $3.5T budget resolution has been under the microscope for weeks, and perhaps for good reason.

Here are just a few of the items included in the bill:

  • A civilian climate corps
  • ACA expansion extension and filling the Medicaid Coverage Gap
  • Health equity (maternal, behavioral, and racial justice health investments)
  • State and local tax (SALT) tax deduction relief which primarily benefits wealthy, blue states
  • Electrifying the federal vehicle fleet (USPS and non-USPS)
  • Lawful permanent status for qualified immigrants or amnesty for illegal aliens

As for the $1.2T infrastructure package, that’s filled with even more “pork,” as Republicans claim.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) has already called out the legislation for focusing on “woke issues” and not on fixing the country. And he isn’t the only GOP leader to voice his concern, either.

Now that we’re hearing even more “liberal goodies” are finding their way into these packages, Republicans are bound to react.

Certain inclusions will almost certainly spark more controversy and outcry. For instance:

  • Defines “gender identity” as a protected class.
  • Doles out “digital equity” grants partly based on racial or ethnic minority status.
  • State-mandated carbon reduction program
  • Contains the word “equity” 64 times
  • Provides roughly $2.5 billion to help the U.S. government expand the border processing stations used by migrants from poor Central American nations and other regions around the world.

Hawley mocked the first item on the list, responding: “Now gender identity is infrastructure. Can’t wait to see what else is in this bill.

Well, more of these items keep leaking out, and Republicans aren’t liking what they see.

Many GOP leaders have already said they’ll never support the bills as they’re currently written, so Biden and his team might have to go back to the drawing board.

But with September 30 coming up fast, politicos on Capitol Hill will have to figure something out. As it stands, however, many claim it’s far more about liberal kowtowing than repairing an ailing country.

Key Takeaways:

  • Biden’s White House has been accused of slipping liberal “anomalies” into funding packages.
  • Reportedly, these “liberal goodies” aren’t normally part of any continuing resolution.
  • Republicans continue to call out many of the included items, which they claim have little or nothing to do with infrastructure.
