Joe Biden might have dodged a bullet by “winning” the White House. That’s because there are several investigations over his son Hunter’s conduct.
Investigations that will probably be shut down at some point by Biden.
That is very likely to be the case, if his pick for attorney general gets in. Biden wants Merrick Garland, a one-time Obama SCOTUS nominee, to take over the DOJ.
But, not so fast, Biden. Because your guy isn’t in for an easy ride in the Senate. From Fox News:
President Biden’s attorney general nominee Merrick Garland will face a confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee at a yet-to-be-determined date, but when the day comes he can expect to field questions related to the president’s son, Hunter Biden…
“Americans deserve to know that this investigation will not be hampered in any way by the change in administrations, and the attorney general nominee should make this point clear,” a spokesperson for Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, told Fox News. “So yes, you can expect that Sen. Grassley will be asking about his role in this investigation.”
It appears Republicans in the Senate want to grill Merrick Garland over his intentions with investigations against Hunter Biden.
As Joe’s pick, Garland might be inclined to shut down these cases. That’s either because Biden will ask him to, or Garland himself might want to “protect” the Biden family.
It seems both Grassley and Graham will be eager to learn Garland’s stance on the issue.
Given the Democrat’s slim upper hand in the Senate, Garland is sure to be confirmed. But he can be pressed during the hearings over his stance on Hunter.
If Republicans properly grill him, Garland will be forced to either recuse himself from these cases. Or, he will agree to not shut them down.
Republicans will have a chance to needle Garland over these issues, making sure Americans hear Garland’s stance.
Garland might try to weasel out of tough questions, but that won’t make him look good as our incoming AG.
Americans have demanded answers over Hunter Biden’s activity for years. Biden senior has dodged these questions, but DOJ investigations might shed plenty of light on the issue.
Will Garland try to hide what is discovered? Or will he let justice have its day?
- Republicans are set to grill Biden’s AG pick over Hunter Biden.
- Some believe the incoming AG will close cases against Biden’s son.
- Republicans can force Garland to admit his intentions during confirmation hearings.
