After the most recent primaries, Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders is the frontrunner.
That might make his diehard supporters happy, but not the rest of the party. Many moderate Democrats—who despise socialism—just might be getting left behind.
If Sanders does nab the nomination, the party will have no choice but to support his radical agenda.
That’s not great for the many Southern and Midwestern Democrats, who actually like capitalism.
The end result? We could see a mass exodus from the party, just to save their seats.
And we could be seeing the beginning of it now.
The Mississippi Republican Party is welcoming some new members and all of them were elected public offices as Democrats or Independents in this most recent election cycle…
All eight of the latest party switchers were from Smith and Covington Counties and one District Attorney whose district covers those areas. But the conservation didn’t take long to expand to the national party ties.
Woah. Eight sitting Democrats from Mississippi just flipped to the Republican Party.
It’s not unheard of for politicians to change parties. But, to be perfectly honest, it’s pretty rare. Most politicians are “dyed-in-the-wool” supporters of their party.
But in recent months, we’ve seen numerous Democrats jump ship to join the GOP. Way more than you normally see.
I wonder why?
Mississippi’s governor is attributing this exodus to Sanders’ growing momentum. The painful reality is, a large portion of the Democratic Party (perhaps most of it) is not on board with his left-wing plans.
Many are already predicting a major sea change if he takes over. Key swing states and House battles could be decided by Bernie’s nomination.
Lots of Americans are determined to not let socialism into the country. Hell, many legal immigrants left socialist countries for America’s shores.

We could be watching the start of a mammoth red wave—one that could dwarf every expectation for 2020.
