Bernie Sanders was a shoo-in for the nomination—so what in the world is going on now?
We don’t seem to see Bernie fighting the way Trump does. He claims to be a man of the people.
But we remember when Sanders bowed to the establishment in 2016.
You’d think the self-proclaimed socialist would fight to the last man. Stand his ground for all those “regular people” he cares about.
But already, after his minor loss on Super Tuesday, he seems to be waving the white flag, earlier than anyone expected.
His latest statement won’t fire up his supporters. Not at all.
Appearing Wednesday on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said he will drop out of the Democratic presidential primary if former Vice President Joe Biden has a plurality of pledged delegates heading into the Democratic National Convention.
Really, Bernie? You’re going to let down your people again?
Even though the race is far from over, Sanders says he’d drop out. If Biden has more votes going into the convention, that is.
In the past, Bernie seemed pretty bullish about delegates. He said he wouldn’t quit, even if he didn’t reach the required 1,991.
But now, after suffering a slight defeat, he’s changing his tune.
Did someone get to you, Bernie? Or are you fish-bellied?
Sanders claims to be an outsider candidate (much like Trump). Yet, this is the second time in so many years that he’s bowing to the establishment.
Did we ever see Trump act this way? No, because he is a man of the people.
Bernie says he hates the political establishment. He said he would change it as president.
How could he say that, but then talk about helping a man like Joe Biden? Biden is the poster child for the D.C. establishment.
Sure, Sanders could say he’s doing it to help the party. If he drops out, that clears the way for Biden to get the nomination.
That would help the party avoid a brokered convention. Which, maybe, kind of, sort of might help them in November.
But come on, Bernie. Do you really think your supporters will buy that line? They dislike the Democrat establishment as much as you do.
Do you think they’ll put aside all that—to back career politician Joe Biden?
