Donald Trump defended Speaker Johnson against calls to remove him from his post. He explained that, with his small House majority, Johnson does not have the power to “do whatever he wants.” Johnson needs the cooperation of Democrats if he wants anything passed.

Republicans will have to expand their majority in the House by a large margin if they want to get much done in the next Congress. They will also have to win back many seats in the Senate, so they can pass meaningful legislation from both chambers.
That, and they have to win back the White House, to end Joe Biden’s progressive agenda. That is a very big election that Trump will need, to accomplish his agenda.
The ongoing conflict between House Republicans, however, will not help. When voters see Republicans constantly fighting, instead of uniting to push back on Biden’s agenda, they might be less likely to vote for the party.
