Democrats tried to make much over a leaked phone call between President Trump and Georgia’s weak secretary of state.
The Washington Post tried to make it seem Trump “ordered” the state to find more votes for him. When, in reality, it seemed he was just demanding they do their job to audit the questionable election results.
Some Democrats had a field day with this “bombshell.” Outspoken and out-of-her-mind AOC even went as far as to demand Trump be impeached over this leaked audio.
Of course, her leftist ally Omar agreed. But what about the rest of the party? From Fox News:
A renewed interest in impeaching President Trump from members of the so-called “Squad” is not catching on among top House Democrats…
However, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, a high-ranking House Democrat, downplayed such an idea on Monday…
Jeffries said House Democrats’ focus will “remain on addressing the public health crisis and the economic crisis that has resulted.”
Rep. Jeffries and other House Democrats are convinced Joe Biden will become president, so they are not interested in impeaching Trump.
They said they will continue to address the crisis that is the pandemic and the economic problems they themselves created.
Meaning, they will probably continue to do very little.
I mean, seriously. What has Congress done to help Americans during the COVID panic? Many think Democrats at the state level created the economic crisis by spreading fear and uncertainty and shutting down businesses and services.
Democrats in Congress did nothing but complain. They continue to refuse to negotiate and provide relief, which would be at best just a Band-Aid.
They are not willing to reopen the country. And they certainly weren’t the ones spearheading a vaccine and other treatments.
So, good for Jeffries. You realized, too late, that an impeachment is the wrong idea.
But I doubt wholeheartedly that he or the rest of the House Democrats will bother to help Americans on any level.
- Some Democrats called on Trump to be impeached over a recent phone call.
- House Democrats rejected it, saying they will focus on relief over the pandemic.
