The show’s just about up for Cuomo. But he seems to want to stay on stage for as long as he can.
After weeks of unfolding drama and scandal after scandal, Democrats in the state are finally acting.
They are preparing an impeachment probe against Cuomo. Even Democrats in Congress and jumping on the anti-Cuomo bandwagon.
From Fox News:
New York Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jerry Nadler on Friday joined the chorus of Democrats calling for embattled Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign amid mounting allegations of sexual misconduct.
He’s being accused by around 30 women of inappropriate behavior in office. Some claim he went out of his way to hire beautiful women (even if they weren’t qualified).
And that’s on top of the six accusations already against him. So, how has the governor responded? Not how you’d expect.
From Fox News:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday refused to resign amid mounting pressure from fellow Democrats for him to step down over sexual misconduct accusations leveled against him — with Cuomo lashing out at “reckless and dangerous” politicians he accused of not knowing all the facts.
Even as allegations mount, Gov. Cuomo once again refused to resign. He said he believed women should be “heard,” but then dropped hints at “possible motives.”
The former prosecutor suggested that those attacking him weren’t being totally honest. He said we need to “know the facts” before a decision is made.
We would all agree. That is why so many people are demanding answers from the governor. He has yet to clarify any of the allegations made against him.
Even so, Democrats are piling on, calling on him to step down. Stepping down would necessarily prove his guilt, just give the state some peace so he could address these scandals separately.
Does Cuomo really think we can “get to the truth” through investigations and probing, while he still tries to run the state?
How many man-hours of investigative work is necessary for state lawmakers, prosecutors, and cops in order to get to the bottom of all this? Cuomo wants all that to go on—at the taxpayer’s expense—while he pretends to go about business as usual?
Does anyone think Cuomo will be able to properly governor NYS with all this hanging over his head? They want to impeach him, for crying out loud.
You’d think he’d just step down, out of concern for his state.
But no. Cuomo, like so many other Democrats caught with their pants down, won’t go down without a fight.
And it looks like he’s taking New York with him.
- More Democrats have called for NY Gov. Cuomo to resign.
- Accusations continue to come out, accusing the man of inappropriate actions.
- Cuomo once again refused to resign, calling into question accusers’ motives.
