Uh-oh, she’s in hot water…AGAIN.
Another day, another scandal for New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Last week, we learned the upstart socialist’s campaign manager had funneled over $1 million in campaign funds to his private companies.
Nobody knows if Ocasio-Cortez knew about this shameless pilfering but chances are, she did.
Now, AOC is facing another money scandal, and this one involves her social media accounts.
A Washington D.C.-based ethics group claims Ocasio-Cortez “used taxpayer resources for political purposes.”
From Western Journal:
“Ocasio-Cortez’s political Instagram account contains direct links to her House Instagram account and includes a link for political contributions…
…alongside posts of official video footage on the House floor, according to a complaint Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust plans to file Thursday with the Office of Congressional Ethics.
The group claims these actions violate House ethics rules.”
Executive Director of FACT, Kendra Arnold, said this is a “straightforward complaint,” and says the “rules clearly define that politics and government works cannot overlap.”
Well, because as Arnold added, they “don’t want our taxpayer dollars going toward campaigns.”
Arnold also said AOC is using Twitter as a form of cross-promotion, in order to get more people to contribute to her cause:
“Once we elect … you cannot use whatever the government provides you for political purposes.
Part of the issue is one violation stacked on another.”
House Ethics Rules forbids lawmakers from using political resources – like a House video AOC put up on her Instagram account – for political purposes.
You also can’t post a link to your official social media site on a campaign social media site.
AOC has done all these things, apparently,
It looks like every time we turn around, Ocasio-Cortez is involved in yet another underhanded method of gaining support, money, or both.
Does this woman have any ethics at ALL…?
