An outspoken political enemy of former President Donal Trump who quit his career in Congress is now trying to lecture Christians on their religion. Former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger is known as a RINO (Republican In Name Only) who rallied with Democrats to attack Trump as part of the Jan. 6 committee.
He recently took issue of a Trump social media post where the 2024 presidential candidate wished a Merry Christmas to “Crooked Joe Biden” and “Deranged Jack Smith.” Trump also took a shot at all the “thugs” in the United States saying they could “rot in Hell,” a dig at various lawmakers in the United States.
Kinzinger decided he should call out the former president’s holiday message and let Christians know how they should think when it comes to Trump.
From the Washington Examiner:
“I’m going to go out on a NOT limb here: this man is not a Christian,” Kinzinger wrote on social media. “If you are a Christian who supports him you don’t understand your own religion. Trump is weak, meager, smelly, victim-ey, belly-achey, but he ain’t a Christian and he’s not ‘Gods man.'”
Kinzinger describes himself on X, formerly Twitter, as a “Proud RINO” who opted not to run for reelection for his House seat in the 2022 midterm elections. During his 12-year stint in Congress he publicly criticized Trump and fellow Republicans who support the former president. After leaving Congress he signed on as a senior political commentator for CNN and moved to Texas.
Kinzinger worked on the Jan. 6 committee and was one of 10 Republicans to vote to impeach Trump. The committee investigated Jan. 6 events and held hearings that were promoted through prime-time television. The ostentatious display was criticized as nothing more than a political stunt.
The “Proud RINO” has kept his name in the headlines after moving to Texas. Reports show that last month Kinzinger said he would “love to run” against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and called Cruz “the most complete con artist in politics.”
Cruz is set to campaign in 2024 for a third term in the Senate. Kinzinger was quoted as saying he had family concerns but if the timing was right, he would “absolutely” take on Cruz.

- Adam Kinzinger called out Trump-supporting Christians for their political stance.
