Democrats are doing their best to get SCOTUS nominee ACB to say something they don’t like.
Dianne Feinstein has tried to get Barrett to say something about sensitive issues.
Those include abortion and Obamacare.
But Barrett turned the tables on the left by teaching them how a judge actually does her job:
“Judges can’t just wake up one day and say, ‘I have an agenda. I like guns, I hate guns. I like abortion, I hate abortion,’ and walk in like a royal queen and impose their will on the world. You have to wait for cases and controversies, which is the language of the Constitution, to wind their way through the process,” she said.
She also said the following:
Judge Barrett: “I Don’t Think We Want Judges To Be Legal Pundits”
Barrett explained that a judge cannot rule like “a royal queen,” imposing their will on the country.
She said that a judge cannot have an “agenda” to push, using examples like guns and abortion.
A judge, in her words, can only let cases “wind their way” through the system, until they reach her.
By saying this, Barrett is exposing the real problem with Democrats and the court system.
Democrats have historically tried to appoint people who just agree with them on major issues. Instead, they are supposed to appoint judges who will uphold the law.
Far too many Democrat-approved judges are radical leftists who seek to impose their politics onto the country.
Barrett is making clear that the job of a judge—or SCOTUS justice—is to carefully understand the rule of law and make decisions that way.
A good justice does not go by her feelings or personal agenda—she goes by what the law says.
That’s obvious to you or me, but not to Democrats! It seems they think judges are supposed to just rubber-stamp the left-wing agenda.
Democrats might be threatened by ACB, not because she’s a “bad” judge (or Trump “puppet”), but because she won’t march to their tune.
She will actually make decisions based on the merits of each case and according to what the Constitution says.
That is very different from what Democrats may have expected.
- Democrats tried to get nominee ACB to give her opinions on controversial cases.
- Barrett explained a judge is not a “royal queen” who rules based on her agenda.
- She upheld a justice’s duty is to decide according to the law of the land.
