Senate Turns Against President Biden – Joe’s Mandate For Healthcare Workers Just Got Blocked

As the pandemic continues to fade, many lawmakers are pushing for a full release of federal and state mandates. We’ve already seen many states reopen fully, and travel is beginning to surge again as well.

However, there are a few lingering rules that remain in place. One of the most controversial involves a vaccine mandate for healthcare workers, which has been in debate for months.

But that debate just got hotter — because the U.S. Senate has made its decision.

Led by physician and Republican Senator Roger Marshall (KS), a resolution to put a stop to Biden’s mandate has moved forward. It’s a move questioned by many Democrats and left-wing politicos.

The resolution is officially called S.J.Res. 32, and over 30 GOP Senators signed on to support it.

This needed to follow a specific path if it was going to be successful: in order to overturn existing federal orders, the lawmakers had to use the Congressional Review Act to push this legislation.

Thankfully, it worked out in their favor, and yet another mandate has fallen.

From Breitbart:

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed a resolution, led by physician and GOP Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), to block the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for most healthcare workers.

‘Today is a huge victory for all the healthcare workers who ran to the sound of the COVID battle, as Senate Republicans joined forces taking us one step closer to invalidating President Biden’s overreaching and harmful CMS vaccine mandate,’ Marshall said in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News following the Senate roll call vote.

The resolution just got passed, by a close 49-44 count, and will now head to the House for a final vote.

In November 2021, the Biden administration issued a mandate that said large businesses (over 100 employees) and the CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) must require vaccination.

It was such a sweeping rule that it affected over 17 million workers and over 76,000 healthcare facilities across the country.

Unfortunately, this unprecedented move had far-reaching impacts. For example, according to Sen. Marshall, one poll showed that about 1 in 5 healthcare workers quit, and nearly 1/3 of nursing homes report a shortage of nurses or aides.

Added Marshall:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services acknowledges that there are currently ‘endemic staff shortages for all categories of employees at almost all kinds of healthcare providers and suppliers.’

Despite this acknowledgment, President Biden and his public health officials went forward with this vaccine mandate knowing it could lead to firings.

And as a doctor, the Senator says he’s “confident the vaccine has saved lives” but at the same time, he also believes the mandate is unconstitutional.

This follows the Supreme Court blocking the OSHA side of the rule. At the time, the high court allowed the CMS mandate to stay in place, but now that is also in danger of falling.

For much of the pandemic, millions of citizens railed against government overreach. Sen. Marshall was hardly the only one to call Biden’s mandates “unconstitutional,” that’s for certain.

To many, this was more about control and less about science. As Marshall finished:

Make no mistake, this federal vaccine mandate is not about public health or science – it’s about Joe Biden fulfilling his desire to control every aspect of our lives, and it’s a slap in the face to the hard-working men and women who never took a day off in the frontline fight against COVID-19.

These workers are the true heroes of the pandemic and deserve our best fight and utmost respect.

It’s likely that other mandates – such as the requirement that face masks be worn at all time in airports and on flights – will disappear in the near future as well.

And right now, countless Americans are hoping a return to normalcy isn’t far off.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Senate has blocked the Biden mandate for most healthcare workers.
  • The resolution passed by a 49-44 vote and will now go to the House for a final vote.
  • Sen. Marshall calls the mandate unconstitutional, and cites widespread nurse and aid shortages. He also said this is more about Biden “fulfilling his desire to control every aspect of our lives.”
