After ‘Superman’ Thug Attacks Judge in Court – The Gavel of Justice Finally Comes Down Hard

Last month, the country was shocked at courtroom footage that went viral. A convicted felon was seeking probation during a sentencing trial in Las Vegas. The judge denied the request and planned on sentencing him to jail.

That’s when the man jumped over the judicial bench and attacked the judge.

It took officers to restrain the man, who was brutally attacking the judge. The shocking video shows the man leap over the bench to assault the female judge. Now, the man is facing strong justice over what he tried to do.

From Fox News:
A Nevada man who leaped over a judicial bench to attack a judge last month after he was denied probation has been indicted by a grand jury for attempted murder…

Redden is then seen flying in the air over the bench with his arms and legs wide open, before landing on the judge…

Redden’s nine-count indictment alleges he attempted to murder Holthus “by grabbing her, pulling her hair, placing his hands around her throat and/or hitting her on the head by manner and means unknown.”

The world watched as Deobra Redden jumped over a judicial bench to attack Judge Mary Kay Holthus after she denied him probation in an assault case. According to reports, he viciously attacked the judge before he could be restrained.

Now, he has been hit with nine charges and has been indicted for attempted murder. The charges are so severe, partly because of the harm he inflicted on the judge. And also, judges are considered “protected people” for just this sort of reason. Criminals convicted by judges could seek revenge.

So, laws protecting judges are understandably so strict. These charges are considerably worse than the original crime that brought him before Judge Holthus. In that case, he was sentenced to four years in prison.

If found guilty of these charges, he could be put away for much longer.

Key Takeaways:

  • A man who attacked a judge last month has been charged with attempted murder.
  • The convicted felon brutally attacked Judge Holthus, resulting in serious injury.
  • This comes after he had pleaded guilty to assault in another trial.
