Billy Busch, whose family sold Anheuser-Busch to InBev in 2008, declared he would be the “first in line” to buy back the company and “make that brand great again.”
The beermaker heir provided comments on an episode of conservative host Tomi Lahren’s “Fearless” this week, almost five months after Anheuser-Busch endured a major boycott for making trans woman Dylan Mulvaney one of Bud Light’s spokespeople.
Billy Busch is offering to buy Anheuser-Busch from InBev after his family sold it to the Brazilian corporate over ten years ago. Busch said that he would make the “brand great again” harkening to the famous slogan of Donald Trump.
Busch seems to think InBev doesn’t understand American customers. Those within the company who chose a transgender to endorse Bud Light had infamously criticized the brand for being “fratty.”
The Anheuser-Busch heir pointed out that moving away from appealing to “fratty” customers wasn’t very “inclusive” for a company that prides itself on being “woke.”
Busch pointed out his father, who continued working long into his 90s, understood his customers. He would even keep selling the beer to bars after it had become a national icon. Busch seems to understand something the big corporation does not.
