It wasn’t the giant “red wave” right-wing citizens were hoping for this midterm season.
Though it appears Republicans will manage to gain control of the House, the Senate is in a dead heat. And if it comes down to a Warnock/Walker runoff, experts predict Democrats win.
Even so, one well-known actress has a message for those who are disappointed — and her inspiring words are spreading quickly.
Patricia Heaton has often been a champion of conservative values, and she has also stood up for Christianity.
In an increasingly disturbing world of entertainment, she remains a voice of common sense and American values for many. And she thought these midterm elections should be put into perspective.
Heaton took to Twitter and sent a message to hundreds of thousands of followers.
And after getting picked up by numerous media outlets, that message has now spread to millions:
The ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Star wants to remind everyone that men and governments are only on the surface.
Something much greater and deeper lies beneath it all, and it’s important to remember that when election numbers come in. This message has already gone over very well with conservatives.
One follower wondered if the press had “purposely misled” right-wingers with talks of a “Red Tsunami,” and Heaton replied:
I think it is helpful to develop a healthy skepticism of all things media and political.
Never buy into what you are being fed by these folks.
Other followers said that we should never “politicize religion” and that God’s work doesn’t depend on who’s in power.
Heaton said that while some Christians might be happy with the election results, “no Christian should put their faith in the government for their hope.”
The 64-year-old actress frequently promotes Republican ideals but clearly, she puts her faith first. And it’s something she hopes many others will do as well, regardless of what happens in Washington.
Looking ahead, it appears as if politicians in D.C. will remain heavily divided no matter what happens.
Many citizens say that we’re seeing the same division in our populace, and that’s a bad sign. Maybe the best thing we can do is take Heaton’s words to heart, and remember that perspective matters.

- She wanted to remind them that men and governments aren’t all-powerful, and our security depends on a greater power.
