Within hours of Kamala Harris being anointed by Joe Biden as his replacement after he dropped out of the presidential race, the media began touting that she was already breaking fundraising records by raising $81 million in just one day. This came as a surprise to many, as Harris had long been one of the least popular vice presidents of all time according to various polls.
In the weeks since then, concerns have grown over the major Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue. This fundraising platform has been used to raise millions for Harris, and Republicans are becoming increasingly suspicious of it.
On Thursday, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) sent a letter to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) asking that they investigate allegations “of fraudulent, deceptive, and potentially illegal behavior” on the part of ActBlue. If there really is illegal activity going on here, it needs to be brought to light as soon as possible.
From Fox News:
Tenney, who co-chairs the House Election Integrity Caucus, cited in the letter addressed to FEC Chair Sean Cooksey and Vice Chair Ellen Weintraub “significant public reporting on anomalous transaction activity involving hundreds of thousands of dollars.” According to the agency’s publicly available data, Tenney wrote, “numerous individuals have allegedly donated to ActBlue thousands of times annually.” However, “it was reported many of these individuals were unaware their names and addresses were being used to make thousands of dollars in political donations.”The FEC declined to comment on the letter. Fox News Digital reached out to ActBlue regarding the allegations, but it did not immediately respond.
The letter noted ActBlue did not require a card verification value (CVV) number to complete a transaction, unlike most online platforms engaged in e-commerce. Relative to campaign contributions, Tenney said using CVV numbers “is an effective antifraud measure that prevents unlawful transactions that violate the Federal Election Campaign Act, 52 U.S. Code 30101-30145, and various state election laws.”
Democrats Will Do Anything To Boost Harris And Defeat Trump
Democrats have shown that they will stop at nothing to defeat Donald Trump and put Harris in the White House. They are constantly accusing Trump and his fellow Republicans of corruption. In reality, it is oftentimes Democrats who are cutting corners and resorting to illegal activities, just to keep themselves in power.
Democrats are well aware of just how unpopular Harris has been throughout Biden’s presidency. They’re also aware that her hopeless lack of charisma will only become more apparent as this presidential race continues. That’s why it would be in their best interest to get ahead of this by making it look as if Harris is so beloved that she’s breaking fundraising records left and right.
More from Fox News:
Tenney specifically urged the FEC to investigate “anomalous transaction activity as it relates to donations to ActBlue,” and answer whether the FEC had already examined anomalous transaction activity or ActBlue’s lax verification processes. If so, the congresswoman asked the FEC to provide “a detailed summary of the results of that investigation.”If not, Tenny asked if the FEC would “commit to investigating potential fraudulent donations to ActBlue, as well as the organization’s lack of verification guardrails”
We can only hope that the FEC takes this seriously and launches an investigation. If laws are indeed being broken here, Harris and her fellow Democrats need to be held accountable.
Key Takeaways:
- Democrats have been claiming Harris is breaking fundraising records.
- Top Republicans are calling for an investigation of the Democrat fundraising platform ActBlue.
- Democrats have been trying to portray Harris as being beloved despite her unpopularity as VP.
