Texas appears to be leading the way in fighting for American freedoms in the age of Biden.
Their governor, Greg Abbott, has already launched several initiatives to defy Biden’s reckless policies.
He has directed the state to sue Biden’s disastrous war on fossil fuels. Abbott and his legislatures are also working on a plan to undermine leftist censorship online.
We reported that a Democrat congressman from Texas, Sheila Jackson Lee, has introduced some of the most radical gun control ever.
So, Gov. Abbott responded by talking about making Texas a sanctuary state. But not the kind liberals love.
This is an example why I want to make Texas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State —>
Gun control bill from Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee would create national firearm registry, require licensing.
We must erect a complete barrier to gun regulations like this.
Gov. Greg Abbott, in an apparent response to Jackson Lee’s new gun control proposal, wants to make Texas a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State.”
Among the extreme measures within Jackson Lee’s bill, it would require gun owners to register with the government. They’d had to report on how many guns—and ammo—they own. The government might even be able to follow gun owners wherever they go.
And that’s only for starters. It seems like Jackson Lee’s bill would treat law-abiding citizens are criminals to be monitored and watched by the government.
Abbott suggests, as other conservatives have said, that Texas become a sanctuary from such laws. Although he didn’t get into specifics, Abbott might want to pass laws that prevent extreme gun control measures in the state.
Whatever the federal government does, Texas will defend citizens’ rights to own and carry firearms.
He uses the common term of “sanctuary” in an attempt to throw shade at liberal sanctuary states. It suggests that, in much the same way those states ignore federal immigration laws, Texas would reject extreme violations of the Second Amendment.
Do you support Gov. Abbott’s desire to make Texas a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State”?
- Texas governor, Greg Abbott, announced his desire to make the state of Sanctuary for the 2nd
- This comes after a Texas Democrat proposed an extreme gun control law in Congress.
- The state would apparently defy federal laws that infringe on Texans’ gun rights.
