The only way to get rid of entitlements is to phase them out. It would be impossible to just hit the brakes on them because anyone that has been forced to pay the government for these services deserves them as they were promised. The first order of business to be able to keep these promises to the people that have paid for them is to not create more dependents. Another point is there should never have been a mandate included that forced everyone by law to participate. Weaning the nation off the government teat must happen because the alternative is not sustainable and the latter route will lead to the collapse of everything. There is going to be pain retracting socialist programs but it must be done if we are to survive as a nation as we know it. Thank you for the link by the way.

Your view that social security is a ploy to get people dependent on government is interesting. Whether it was the intent of its founders, it has truly become that. Try to tell a person receiving social security that it should be eliminated and you would think you just committed murder. They will vote for anyone running for office that says they will not change the program. And they will turn their backs on people who support something better.

You mentioned Sharron Angle's desire to eliminate Social Security and medicare. True she has stated the desire to phase it out. She has also stated that our society has promised seniors this and we as a people should keep that promise.

I love "Dittos Rush!" and by echoing Rush Limbaugh you are a huge cog in the "Founding Fathers" style conservative machine that is going to recover our wonderful country from the depths that the communist democrats have taken us. It makes me proud that we are part of the grassroots movement that is going to be the reason America returns to greatness. I salute you and all Conservative Patriots forever!

First of all thank you for the comment.

You are absolutely right. I have been hooked by the best of them. If Jesus Christ, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan are the forces of greed then I am the as greedy as they get! But I am not greedy for money I am greedy for freedom and a government that governs from the foundations established by the Founding Fathers that created it. I am not a laissez-faire libertarian and I am not a communinst. I am a conservative, God fearing, patriotic American that believes and lives to the best of my abilities to the motto that is part of the banner of this blog. God, Family and America, Nothing else matters! I find it an insult that you would assume that my thoughts and actions were somehow dictated or even influenced by the faceless "forces of greed". It is the leftist that assumes the masses are being led by the nose because they do not know better. Because I do know better and I do not conform with the leftist cause I am a threat and must be discredited and silenced. If this is your goal I must inform you that it will never happen as long as their is life in my body. Your choices are read and learn or go to a leftist site and complain about the conservative revolution that is retaking the country in ever aspect.

Yes, those Marxist don't get it. I know them here in Northwest Florida. All 5 of them. They hang out down at the vegan restaurant and avoid work. I guess all us other Obama supporters who aren't Marxist are just plain stupid, uneducated or just outright un-American. Nevermind that I've worked all my life, (including on off-shore oil rigs) have my own business, have studied history, and followed politics and world affairs for the past 40 years, I am the "know it all, teenager" and you are the "parent".
In the 60's and 70's I recall a great deal of ignorant extremism from the left. Now it's coming from the right. My great great grandfather fought for the confederacy, in spite of the fact that the confederacy was no friend to poor working white families. Just as they were fooled into fighting for the wealthy to own slaves to keep their wages low and jobs limited, the Tea Party people are taking it hook, line and sinker.
There is no communist threat. Communism is just as foolish as laissez faire libertarianism. Both lead to tyranny. Communism's tyranny comes from the government, while laissez faire libertarianism leads to tyranny from the greedy and the wealthy. Greed has been the source of our troubles. And the forces of greed have you fooled. They don't want to be regulated and you are falling for it. Wrap it in God and the flag and some will fall for anything.

VMan makes a great point. Many candidates tell you what you want to hear. If we want to make a difference we have to know who the real conservatives are.
