THEPATRIOTJOURNAL.COM: Obama Might Be The Conservative Savior
Obama Might Be The Conservative Savior
No, I haven't lost my mind, but the more I think about it, the more I think I am right about this. I don't mean savior as in Christ. I mean savior of the Conservative movement. Obama has done more to resurrect the Conservative movement than any leader since Ronald Reagan. God Bless the soul of that man, who by the way would have been 100 years old on the sixth of February.
Think about what Obama has done for your psyche. He has gotten every Conservative off the couch and out into the street and town square holding picket signs. When was the last time that has happened? He has angered the hard left by not closing down Guantanamo, then compromising with the new Republican House on the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts. Of course he has done damage and that is not good, but there is a silver lining to that too.
He and the far left Congress committed the ultimate sin however when they legislated against the will of the people. Passing the Obamacare bill by cramming it down our throats exposed the democrats for what they are, power hungry, arrogant, and duplicitous. With that one piece of legislation and the following attacks on the Tea Party, which is a true grassroots movement, they have sealed their fate in the present and near future.
I look at my actions before and after Obama was elected. I started a blog and have become very active in my local Republican party in addition to partying with the Tea Party. As soon as the 870 billion stimulus bill was signed I knew what we were up against. I like everyone else was hoping for the best but got the worst, a far left Alinsky ideologue. The number of people that I personally have heard who are regretful they voted for him is astounding.
Put all of his wonderful attributes together with a ready and willing leftist Congress and voila! you have a perfect political storm to sew the seeds to the latest Conservative revival. You say "so what, so did Johnson 1968 and Carter in 1980". You are right, both Johnson and Carter helped revive Conservatism, but not like this.
The difference today as opposed to 1968 and 1980 is, people are much better informed now, and are paying more attention now thanks to the internet and 24 hour news. People are thinking about how decisions in Medicare are affecting them personally. All of these factors coupled with blatant duplicity and utter contempt for the taxpayer, have made this time special
This time is special because for the first time in my life people are thinking twice about the practicality, the wisdom, and the constitutionality of the leftist "sacred cows" Social Security and Medicare. (Of course only to be phased out after all of the contributors have collected their deposits and the mandate has been lifted) Oh and it gets better! People are also talking about the need for a complete constitutional audit to be done on everything the federal government is involved in.
This means rolling back the creeping death "progressive" period that was set into place in the beginning decades of the 20th century. It also means that lots of government bureaucracy could be headed to the trash heap. We could finally get rid of cabinet positions that are not authorized by the Constitution like the Dept. of Health and Human Services, Education, Energy and Housing and Urban Development. These, in addition to throwing out a myriad of agencies, and bureaus that regulate or control aspects of government that the states are authorized, per the Constitution, to control.
Obama has truly awoken a sleeping giant who is not only big but much smarter and much more savvy. If all of this works out like I want it to, I will have to formally thank Obama.
