I am not the type of person to gloat or get joy out of the failure of others but I was chuckling today. If you have not heard Obama and his entourage of Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey made complete fools of themselves flying to Copenhagen, Denmark to lobby the International Olympic Committee to select Chicago as the host for the 2016 Olympic Games. There were 4 cities that had bids in to host the games and Chicago was the first one eliminated. Now don't get me wrong, I want the Olympic games to come to America as many times as we can get them here. I believe that the economic and cultural benefits to the host city and the country as a whole are worth it. Plus, there is always a side of me that wants the people of the world to see this wonderful country and see what capitalism and a democratic republic are capable of producing. 

     The incredible part was hearing the news that Chicago was the first city eliminated. I was in shock. I wasn't in shock because Chicago was eliminated. I was in shock because Obama and his entourage went there to make a presentation and didn't know the outcome. I thought for sure that he knew that Chicago was going to beat out the other cities and then was going to come back and claim the credit. What a photo op that would have been. I was positive that he had some back room deal going on for the Olympic games. Otherwise why would he go over there? Dumb politicians would never make a mistake like this. Why would his staff let him go over there? Not only did Obama, the only sitting leader that I know of to ever to do this sort of thing, make a complete jackass of himself, he let his wife and Oprah Winfrey go and make complete jackasses of themselves as well.

     If George W. Bush had done the same thing I would have said the same thing. However I wouldn't have chuckled as much. No, not because he was a Republican but because you would have expected the IOC which is manned by Europeans to reject him. But Obama? The messiah? The chosen one? The one that has apologized for America and pressed the Staples EasyButton to reset relations with the Europeans? The one that all of Europe loved and was going to change the acrimony and the 8 years of arrogance of the Bush regime? I would have thought that after all of his teleprompter speeches praising himself and talking bad about America he would have had this one in the bag. He fooled all of us because we thought that he was more intelligent. On the contrary, yes it is true, we have a complete idiot living at the White House.

      What an embarrassment. Even the foreign press was incredulous. It was also funny afterward to see the mainstream media scramble to throw a good spin on the whole thing, they were duped as well, then tasked with making Obama somehow not look as bad. It was a show yesterday that I never thought I would see. But as dumb as it all was I know why he did it now. He did it out of pure narcissism. He actually believed that his presence and presentation was going to most certainly guarantee him and Chicago the bid. This of course is sad to me because only someone with a sick mind is that full of themselves. I guess the hopey/changey thing is not working anywhere but especially not in Europe. Everything he is involved with turns out bad. My guess is that he will be his same old arrogant self within a day or two. Leftists never stop to smell the roses so he won't take a lesson from this, he'll plow on throw the night. This was one big gamble and it turned out bad for Obama and his ego. He needs to learn that no matter how much he trots around the globe he is never going to convince any Europeans to like America. They hate us out of jealousy and competition and no one except leftists care what Europeans think anyway. It cracks me up how dysfunctional leftists really are. They stab each other in the back all the time but somehow stay on message.

     Obama has been a complete disaster for America. Instead of concentrating on how to get the economy back in shape (he knows it's cutting taxes but won't do it) or spending time with the generals running an ever increasingly problematic Afghanistan war he is off spending millions jetting around the world for silliness like this. This incident in which he disgraced the Office of President, his lack of any knowledge of how to run anything and his, as left as you can go on the left agenda, is going to set us all back a few years. The good news is that sometimes it takes a moron to get to a genius. This reminds me so much of the late 70's when Jimmy Carter was the village idiot that somehow made it to the White House. The good news was after Carter we got Reagan. Obama is the kind of disaster as President that is going to bring intelligent people out of the woodwork to run for President. We literally cannot afford another 4 years of Obama.
