THEPATRIOTJOURNAL.COM: We Need An Amendment Or Constitutional Convention
We Need An Amendment Or Constitutional Convention
We are in a very precarious time in history. I don't want to sound like a fatalist or overly glum but we are at a crossroads in our history. The last time the population was this polarized was 1860. I think the average American cannot see the storm coming but it is going to be too late to turn back the government if it gets much stronger. People do not realize what is going to happen to health care when nationalized health care is instituted against our wishes.
The leftists in history starting with Woodrow Wilson and the Federal Reserve on through Franklin Roosevelt with Social Security and Lyndon Johnson with Medicaid and Medicare and now Obama with the take over of the health care industry have whittled away at our free market solutions to personal problems and made us dependent on government handbacks of our taxes. Which isn't really correct because everyone knows that they spend it and then tax the current working generation to pay for it. Inflation kills what your parents put in on prices and costs of living now, not to mention the cost of the bureaucracy to distribute and monitor it.
In other words the leftists in history have made us all wards of the state to some degree and the current administration is taking full advantage of the political numbers in congress to make us more dependent and more subservient. I reject this like I reject a burglar in my home stealing my wallet. These people are crooks and should be prosecuted for breaking the law of the Constitution. It is we who have allowed this trashing of our beloved Constitution, and it is us and only us that can restore the integrity of the supreme law of our land. If you really think about it, the Constitution does not allow for half of the current Executive Cabinet Secretaries. The most glaring the Department of Education, Health and Human Services and Energy to name a few. All of them unconstitutionally seizing control from the private sector and the states, and all a monumental waste of taxpayer money.
Texas Governor Rick Perry has already stated that Texas might not go along with the nationalized health care and the other liberties that the federal government has been taking, undermining the 10th Amendment. I wonder if my state would stand with Texas and what other states would stand with Texas if they were to stand up to this tyranny. Why it has to come to some showdown for the American people to wake up and see what is happening to our liberty I'll never know. The truth remains however that there is going to be a showdown sometime soon if this isn't stopped and reversed and capped for good.
This is where my idea comes into play for a seperate Amendment to make it illegal for Congress to pass any law that it is not Constitutionally allowed. "Well Mike you know that the Constitution can be interpreted either way" Yes it can be, and that is why we need a Constitutional convention. A Constitutional Convention will determine once and for all what the meaning of the Constitution is. Otherwise we are either going to have civil war or live one day under a communist politburo style system. "Oh Mike you sound like some right wing nut like Alex Jones blah blah" I am the last person to ever be a conspiracy theorist I am simply being a realist. I know the leftists and their ultimate goals and they are either going to get to it fast or keep chipping away at the stone of the Constitution until it is no longer there. At least my way we won't have any civil war and if there is a breakup it will be peaceful.
Of course I don't want any of this to happen and I also hope that we can roll back and correct any damage Obama and the Axis of Morons in Congress have inflicted. That will be great for then but we still need to stop leftists from ever being able to do it again by law. There is so much more I could add to this post, but for the sake of brevity I will close. Hope and Change for me will be every incumbent out in 2010 and the rest including Obama gone in 2012. We need to start anew and correct the course of this the greatest country to ever exist.

I am very impressed. Not many have become aware of the process of a Constitutional Convention. As to the removal of all incumbents...we have already begun a "Clean House In Congress" campaign. You can find our statement within our "Truckers and Citizens of American" section on our site.

But Mike I don't agree with the proposal of a constitutional convention. Only as a last resort would I support this. We have too many people who only listen to the network news, listen to their liberal college professors, or the latest on Michael Jackson's nose. Also, what we learned in the last election is that people will only listen to the person who is most articulate or stir their emotions. As long as we have these people their influence will be included into the constitution. I think this document is fine the way it is. You start tinkering with it and you don't know what you may get. Maybe that is why we have never had a convention
