I Know How To Fix The Economy

I am amazed at people that cannot see how macro economics works. Everyone knows the principles of economics in their own lives but for some reason many people cannot see that these principles apply to the big stage just the same. All of my Obama supporter friends keep hounding me to "give him a chance". Give him a chance? The man has a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, a major majority in the House of Representatives, and he still cannot correct the problems our country faces? He has had 6 months and spent more money than any other President ever in history. How many more chances does the guy get? What my friends refuse to see or admit is that he doesn't care about the economy right now. His main focus is on taking over the health care system. Obama could fix the economy in a couple of months if he wanted to, but he isn't going to. He is saving alot of the money from the 787 billion dollar stimulus bill to be used in 2010 before the election so he can boost some numbers for the Senate and House elections and in 2012 for his own election. That isn't going to work either.

Economics is easy. You have a skill or labor or knowledge that someone wants or needs. Someone pays you for one or more. You receive the pay, you then buy products and services that you desire or need. Very simple right? All you have to do is apply that to the big picture. The definition of big picture is simply that, more workers, more buyers, more products, and more services. So to fix the economy you make it easier for the cycle of work, collect, buy, to work for people. "Ok genius, how do you do that?" Obama can do it buy cutting taxes. Yes, the big answer to the 64,000 dollar question is "cutting taxes". That of course would be the biggest step toward economic recovery. The next step is de-regulation but that is another story for another day.

Obama will not, I repeat! will not cut taxes while he is in office. He doesn't believe in it. He believes government can better manage your money than you can. He could have given the 787 billion dollar stimulus to us in the form of a tax holiday for every working man and woman for a year and a half. Not my first choice but it would have been popular and would've boosted the economy temporarily. You would get the "gross" amount on your check for a year and a half instead of the "net". Would that have stimulated things? You bet it would have. If you usually bring home 75,000 dollars a year you would now have 100,000 that year. Everyone would have spent that money and it would have stimulated the economy. Instead we have lost 3 million jobs since then. When the next Republican President is elected, I hope in 2012 and I hope it isn't a RINO, they will if they are smart follow Ronald Reagan's model of cutting taxes. Even though from now until 2012 the economy is going to be terrible, after that we should see another decade of great economic growth.

"So, why does this work and why are you so confident?" This is always the question I get from my Obama loving friends that are still following the other lemmings over the cliff. It works for the very simple reason that the more money you have the more money you are going to spend. The more money you and the rest of the country spend on goods and services, the more shop owners have to order, and the more workers the shop owner has to hire to handle the increased load of product going out the door. The more workers that find jobs because the economy is growing the more the unemployment rate goes down. The unemployment rate goes down and there are more people paying taxes. So even the government gets more money when the economy is doing good. It's a nice cycle that works great when the government stays out of it. The government would stay out of it if we could just elect Conservatives to oversee it for us all the time.

Why people are not learning this and calling the President, their Representatives and Senators demanding that taxes be cut i do not know. The fact still remains that cutting taxes is the only way. History is on our side, never has a "wealth re-distribution" model of government ever succeeded. They all have fallen down hard. The Soviet Union is the prime example. Again, I have to remind everyone that we will overcome this recent attack on our freedoms, we have had worse Presidents and worse economies. Obama is going back to Chicago in 2012 you can bet on it.

I totally agree with you. If our taxes could be cut and we could go with flat tax I think the majority of the economic problems could be solved. But of course, that would mean the govt couldn't have their greedy little hands down our throats so it's probably not going to happen right?

Michael it is so clear how this Jr. President does not want to cut taxes for this would be give up power. This administration is not effective and the promises are not keeping is the starting point. As we hear to often they are all about POWER

We need to find strength in our goal to take back our republic. I feel we are now embarrassed with the word “Change” for it has been tainted and is being misused. The Congress and the Senate are no longer agents for the people; they no longer represent us but represent special interest groups.

Politicians make hay with partisanship. We have been fooled by this for using sound bites to deflect the truth we have lost our reel picture of what is needed. It is not a Democratic, or Republican alone issue. Bipartisanship can and should be part of strength we thrust.

Our thrust should be concentrating on discovering of our common need not a polarized precept that was establish by party guidelines the key is it represents our goals.

We are seeing way too much government that thinks we need there version of a solution for us and this is not a working model that we need to embrace. Our goal should be one of expressing our needs to the representatives and the party who feels they can do this honestly will emerge.

He has an agenda that supercedes logical planning. I am afraid we are going to have to grin and bear it until 2010 at least.

I wish I could run for President, unfortunately I don't think I could muster the "star" appeal like Obama. However if I were to run and somehow win, I don't know who I would pick for Vice President, but I know who I would want as my chief of staff. Mark Levin. What do you think?

LOL Mark Levin is a very successful conservative talk show host but before that he served as an advisor in the Reagan Administration and is a Constitutional Lawyer with the Landmark Legal Foundation. He just wrote a book called "Liberty & Tyranny" you should read it. It is probably the most articulate piece of literature on the subjects that we face now that I have ever come across. Mark Levin is a good ally to have on our side.

I am one of those "crazy" people that believe that the income tax should be done away with. Talk about economic growth, no income tax and no property tax would help put government back in its cage and the country would prosper as it never has before....Oh yah, we would have to end the fed, too.

Thank you! I read your letter to the President by the way. Very nice, too bad he won't read it and heed all of our words. I think it is people like your self and I that are making a dent in his armor. Good job!

Cutting spending needs to be done as well....hand in hand with reducing taxes. We need less government...not more as BHO is giving us.

You are absolutely right, I was thinking more in the short term. However for any kind of long term relief government has to be contained. Good point, thanks for the comment.
