THEPATRIOTJOURNAL.COM: Pondering The Future Of America
Pondering The Future Of America
As I write this article I ponder the future of our great country. I have a feeling that we are at a crossroads. I know this has happened many times before. Many of other Americans in the past and present have had these very same feelings. I can't imagine what heart wrenching feelings were going through the minds of men that were actually directly responsible for the future like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. I feel sorry for them because they were facing insurmountable odds. George Washington a farmer and part time soldier rejected for commission in the British army, took on the world super power British and beat them with a ragtag gaggle of an army. He wasn't supposed to even be on the same battlefield and if we would have fought another ten wars in a row we would have lost ten times to the British. But we won and we are here. Abraham Lincoln was sent by God to save us, he had to have been. Imagine 1861 and Lincoln had just been elected to the greatest office in the land and just as soon as he gets settled into the White House, the entire southern half of the country secedes. If there was ever a dark day in American history that was it, and somehow, some way, by the grace of God, Lincoln pulls it all back together again and ends slavery on top of it all. We were lucky to have the right men in the right spot at the right time. Are we going to continue to be that lucky?
We are at a crossroads in history right now. The country is polarized between people that want to get away from what has made it great, and the people that want the founding principles to be respected and the Constitution to be obeyed. The problem being that whatever leftists accomplish will affect the entire country in terrible ways. Their philosophy has never worked and has been tried over and over again. Conservatives want to keep our country great and don't mind tweaks to the system to make it better. Conservatives support the Constitution and Declaration of Independence and do not want them ripped to shreds by bureaucrats and Marxists. We Conservatives want everyone to succeed and believe that Americans are best when they are achieving all they can in a free society. President Obama and the current crop of far left lawmakers in Congress are taking us on the path to hell. They are going to remove all incentive to achieve. What's left is an elitist government controlled society where the average man is another number and no extra effort is going to improve your lifestyle.
If everyone in the country would study history they would understand this. I feel like the guy in the movie "Final Destination". I can see the crash coming and there is nothing I can do other than try and get the word out. For some reason Americans out of ignorance, apathy, or fear cannot see the sense of urgency. It's like cleaning your pool right before you know a wildfire is going to burn your house down. This government has already classified alot of us as potential domestic terrorists. What the hell is that? That was the point when I started to get worried.
At this crossroads we are either going to get rid of this Congress in 2010 and get rid of Obama in 2012 through elections or we are going suffer enormously. However, again I am worried about that process. There were alot of close races and leftist ACORN was using fraud to get leftists elected. I know this because we are prosecuting them in my home state of Nevada. If somehow Congress stays intact in 2010 and Obama in 2012, the next thing coming down the pike will be the repeal of the 22nd Amendment which limits Presidents to two 4 year terms. If that happens then we all will have to make some serious George Washington/Abraham Lincoln choices. I hope we are all doing our part and we turn this train wreck around for our kids and grandkids. They deserve the country in good condition. I refuse to go to my grave just letting America be destroyed. I would rather die fighting for it. I am counting on my fellow Americans along with me to stop this march to hell and be the happier for it in a couple of years.

I understand and share you concerns regarding the direction of this country. Find solace in knowing that throughout U.S. history there has always been a struggle between those with firm convictions and those without. In fact, in the 1700's when Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense, one third of the country was in favor of remaining under the rule of England, one third wanted autonomy, and one third truly had no clue what was going on. So even from our founding days it appears a motivated minority of people with strong conviction have played a key role in keeping America on track. Don't despair. Obama is simply the conflagration of many liberal tornadoes crashing together for one brief moment of destruction - serving to remind us what is truly important. In that sense, Obama is the best thing that could possibly have happened for conservatives and for this country. Scot Reply to this

Thank you for the email. I just finished an email to some friends that expressed some of the same things that you expressed in your blog. Yes, we are standing at a crossroads. People like us are doing everything that we can to help the blind see, while we continue to fight for what we don't want to lose, our freedom. We are fortunate, in that, we see what is coming and we are not alone. There are many of us. We will do what needs to be done to turn this country around. What we do every day, in every waking moment, counts. I live in Nevada. I'm working with TeamSarah Nevada, among others, to get Harry Reid out. I'm hoping that Dean Heller will step up. I don't see anyone else who might be able to beat him, at this point. Do you? I have work to do, so I'll talk with you later. Reply to this
Thank you for the comment. Being a Nevadan there is nothing more important to me than sending our embarrassment, Harry Reid, back to Searchlight! I pray Dean Heller steps up. The only other people that would even have a chance are Joe Heck and maybe Bob Beers. But I don't think Bob is going to run again and I believe Joe Heck is wanting to be Governor. Lets hope Dean Heller steps up. Reply to this

Good article. I am not a fan of Lincoln. I believe states have the right to leave the union if the government gets tyrannical. Lincoln would have lost if he hadn't interjected the moral element of freeing the slaves. If he had lost, we might not be having the problems we have today. The federal government would likely be a lot weaker. Reply to this

It's a little off topic but I thought I'd comment anyway. Congresswoman Dina Titus representing Nevada's third distric voted "NO" to Obama's health care plan on Friday. She is a democrat! Keep up the good work. They will have no choice but to listen eventually. Reply to this
