In the 70's I was a kid in Phoenix, Arizona. There is a little town on the way to Las Vegas called Wickenburg and on the way to Wickenburg there was at that time open desert. Driving up that way you would see a house or two and I distinctly remember seeing some houses out that way with funny panels on the roof, which my parents explained were solar panels. The reason I am bringing this up is because I was a very inquisitive kid. When we returned home I wanted to find out all I could about these wild panels that would supposedly power the house off the grid. I found out that it was the new way and everybody was going to be doing it soon.

     Well 35 years later and I am still waiting for every house in the country to break out the solar panels on their roof. It's not going to happen because it doesn't pass the first test of economics. It costs too much for the benefit it provides. It's sort of like driving a Winnebago as your every day car, besides the obvious size problem the fuel costs would eat you alive. In other words, if it was going to save money everybody would have solar panels and windmills.

     "Green energy" is another leftist farce used to take more control of our lives via the government. Powering houses for lights, heat and air conditioning costs Americans an enormous amount of money per year. The solution for powering houses is obvious. Nuclear power. Nuclear power is not only inexpensive but it is clean as well. I know you want to say it. "What do you mean Mike, what about Nuclear waste and where to put it etc, that's not clean, and also we could die in a meltdown like Three Mile Island" Not true, first of all no one has ever died from a Nuclear power accident in this country. More people have died erecting windmills. The technology since Nuclear power's inception is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was for Three Mile Island and even then a meltdown didn't happen. It's safe, every naval carrier has a Nuclear power plant onboard.

     Secondly, Nuclear waste are rods of spent uranium, and these rods can be recycled to minimize the amount of waste significantly. France, a country I never give kudos, gets one here. The French use Nuclear energy to power about 80% of their demand, which means they are saving alot of money. They also recycle their spent fuel rods and store the entire country's Nuclear waste in one room. Why don't we do that? Good question. We need to ask leftists in the government that have been keeping Nuclear energy buried in bureaucracy since the 70's.

     Nuclear power could also solve more than just the home energy problem. California, a state in dire need of energy and water could get both from Nuclear energy. Building Nuclear power plants there to power ocean pump stations and desalination plants would solve their water problems as well. They could export water to other states if they wanted to with a system like that. Will they do that? Probably not, the entire state is stuck in the leftist quicksand. Nothing logical gets done there.

     Another good use of Nuclear power is for the power it takes to catalyze water for Hydrogen to power Hydrogen cars. That would solve the car energy and pollution problems as the exhaust reforms into water again. Also, we could get off the dependency for foreign oil. Yes, I am a certified genius. No I'm not, everyone could figure this problem out, it's simple! It's logical! You would think that everyday Americans would reject leftist propaganda and be practical, but we all keep hoping logic will one day be the rule. I know the leftists will never want it because it won't give them control, but everyday Americans need to wake up.

     Instead, Obama and the 111th Congress are going to go to a Cap and Trade which will force our energy bills to skyrocket. You can't legislate solar and wind to be economical. It's all a con job like every other leftist scheme. This is all in the name of "green power", and "Global Warming". Who cares if you can't feed your family at least your power is "green", if you can afford it. I wonder if all the adoring crowds are still diggin' the "hope and change" when in the future their power bill is doubled or tripled.
