THEPATRIOTJOURNAL.COM: When Are We All Going To Just Be Americans
When Are We All Going To Just Be Americans
I was listening to Hannity today and there was an audio clip from an interview with the Attorney General of the United States of America, Eric Holder, the top law enforcement official in the country. The questioner was referring to an incident where a priest was attacked by a gay man presumably because of the ongoing battle over Proposition 8 which bans gay marriage in California. The interviewer asked Holder if the priests' case would be considered a hate crime. After all the priest was attacked for a credo that might not necessarily have been his and even if it had been he didn't deserved to be attacked. Holder said no and that the hate crime legislation was meant for those that traditionally have been attacked for race, skin color, and sexual orientation. So I am understanding that if the priest had attacked the gay man back he might have been prosecuted in federal court for a hate crime and the same for a white person attacked by a Hispanic or Black etc.
I am incredulous! I cannot believe that he said that even if that were going to be the secret policy and that that was in his heart. The man is a racist and he is supposed to be protecting all of us equally. How is it, that this far along in our society that people cannot see past color of skin or religion or creed? And how in the hell do we have an Attorney General that is an obvious racist? This all sickens me to no end. I am sick of the racial garbage that only the left bring up, it's such a lie and such a waste. It is used by them to control their flock is all. Get peoples' primal emotions boiling and you can lead them around by the nose. It's an old and true leftist tactic that works every time for those that do not know better.
I am sick of hearing I am "African-American" or "Irish-American" or "Italian-American" etc. Or "I have a temper because I am" a certain race. It's all silliness that is taught. The racial divisions are like any other conjured up emotional divisions the left uses. If you are poor hate the rich, if you are black hate white people, if you are a union worker hate the non-union worker, it's endless. It's the most destructive attitude to have, it holds us back from being as great as we all can be. The political correctness of our society, which I reject, holds back truths that could help people learn from people that are not like them. To hate someone is not natural it's taught and the left controls education in this country at all levels.
When are we just going to all be proud Americans? Doesn't every race have something to offer that they could teach the others? Why is it that ignorance is glorified in certain races? Why wouldn't people want to compete with each other or learn new things from each other without it being in an atmosphere of hate? I don't say forget the past but why live the past when it wasn't and isn't your fight? Why not enjoy the fruits of your ancestors labor, like they wanted it to be? I am not a miserable person, on the contrary, I am a happy person but it is sad to see people miserable, insecure and fearful that someone is going to discriminate against them at any time. This all ties into my last published entry "Why Leftists Are Leftists". Misery loves company no more than an insecure leftist.
My advice to racists is to stop being a racist. It only hurts you. If you cannot love yourself and make yourself happy you are going to be miserable forever. Remember what Dr. Martin Luther King said, "Judge a man by his character and not by the color of his skin" If everyone including Blacks and Whites and Asians and Hispanics did this we would all be better off for it. We would all just be Americans!

Yep Mike you are 100 percent right. I've been saying this for years to anyone who will listen. True conservatives don't care about race. The only thing they care about is liberty and freedom for ALL americans.
But there are some things many non-minorities (including many conservatives)do that frustrates me. I don't know if it's insensitivity, stupidity, or just "White Guilt Syndrome" Let me give you an example
It really bugs me to hear people having a conversation and then describe a person as a black person or a Hispanic, when that description has absolutely nothing to do with the story. The story could still have been told without the person's racial description.
I hear this all the time. Not long ago, a co-worker was telling a story about how he saw a lady pulling her child by the arm in the store and the child was crying. But when the co-worker told the story, he stated he observed a "Black woman" pulling her child by the arm. I asked the co-worker what the lady being of color had to do with the story, but he had no answer. Would he have described the lady as a "white woman" had she been one. Unlikely!

I agree with you 100% so far. I am proud of my ancestory, yes, and I used to say I am an American of Italian descent, from Texas. Now I say, I am an American Patriot, from Texas. Reply to this
John Wayne received a honorary medal from Congress that simply said John Wayne American that is how I feel. There is nothing wrong with being proud of ancestry and the family's country of origin, until it becomes more important than the country you are from. Italians have contributed an enormous amount to our culture I would be proud too. I am of Scottish descent but America will always come before Scotland to me, but I too am proud of what they have brought here to share.
Whenever I am in Texas I feel more Patriotic. There is something hard core American about that state that none of the others have. God Bless you and Texas. Reply to this
