Obamacare Will Be His Waterloo

Watching the news today made me laugh out loud. I see our President talking to an obviously friendly crowd about the importance of passing health care legislation as quickly as possible. He was trying to sell it like we were all going to die tomorrow if it was not passed in the next hour. Health care is expensive, it always has been. Why has it been so expensive you ask. It has been expensive because the government cannot leave it alone.

The solutions are as simple as the free market. Health care is part of the free market like it or not and always will be if you want the best health care at the best cost. Human nature is to do the best for you and your loved ones, doctors that get paid more and are able to do better for their families are going to try harder as are the research scientists at the pharmaceutical companies going to work the extra hours to come up with the medicines to cure disease etc. Doctors and scientist paid by the government will be bad, take it from a government worker and one that has seen government health care in the military. Ever hear of the VA hospital nightmares? Ask a veteran about government health care. Government and politicians have never created anything but problems when they interject themselves into anything. Letting government run health care is like letting your 5 year old drive the car to the store. I'm serious, and our health is too serious to let politicians control it.

My way to cure health care is simple, make it easier for the health care industry to do their jobs. Groups of workers in every industry that can join across state lines as a group can leverage better discounts for insurance than just their in-state workers (sort of like buying in bulk at Sam's Club). Why can't they now? the federal government will not let them. Tort reform is another one that needs to happen. When someone can sue doctors frivolously and not have to pay the court costs when they lose is another problem that raises the malpractice insurance rates which are passed on to the consumer.

I know what you are thinking. "Ah what do you know, you're just a blogger. It has to be more complicated than that". That is what Obama wants you to think. It isn't that complicated if you know how business and the economy work. The more complicated someone tries to make something the more weary you should be of what comes out of their mouths. Especially people that are not experts in the field.

I was laughing today because he is trying to sell this to all of us when 70% of those polled are happy with their health care. Plus, the cost of government health care is going to be so enormous we would be a bankrupt country within a couple of years. Inflation will get high because the government will have to print money to pay for it, and when that happens you will be wheelbarrowing money to the store to buy a loaf of bread. Read history, read about the Weimar republic of Germany just before Hitler took over, we are following that path. Sounds crazy but I never thought we'd get this far.

Sure the costs need to come down and they will when the government leaves it alone. People love their doctors and feel that they are getting the best health care on the planet. Government health care would be a nightmare and the quality and availability of care would suffer enormously. If this passes it is going to be a disaster to this country it will take years to get rid of and correct, and might be the start of our decline to mediocrity in the world. We need to get rid of Obama Bonaparte and let Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd eat cake in retirement.

Thursday, my new bride went to the Social Security office here in town to get a new SSAN card.

Now, there are four Social Security offices in the Las Vegas valley. Since she had to go on her lunch break, she picked the closest one to her job. When she arrived she had to take a number and wait 45 minutes. Once she got to talk to a person she finds out that this particular office does NOT do the service she requested. (name change) In fact she found out that of the four office in town, only one of the office will perform this simple task. Naturally she wasted he lunch break and got nothing done

And there are people who want the Government to run their health care program.
