GOP Apathy On Nationalized Health Care Is Driving Me Crazy

Most people do not realize it but we are at a crossroads in this country, the likes of which will change everything for the much worse if the current course is not reversed. Congress is debating "Nationalized Health Care". A government  run program which will destroy private health care. Why will it kill private health care you ask. It will kill private health care because the government is going to tax the health care plans that are not government to the point where it will be too expensive to own it, therefore private business will not buy it, letting employees get it free from the government. Sounds great so far right? Cheaper for business cheaper for us cheaper, cheaper, better, better right? Wrong! The government is the most inefficient entity to ever exist. The reason for that is that the money being spent is someone else's money, all of ours. There is virtually no accountability and when there is no accountability waste is rampant. The government is running a 1.3 "TRILLION" dollar deficit this year alone without health care. The entire government debt is over 12 trillion. If you tried to count to a trillion it would take you 31,000 years if it took you only 1 second for each number. It is going to take generations to pay off what has been spent already on the stimulus and all of the bailouts. And it gets better; the Congressional Budget Office says the health plan proposed by Senators "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy and "Countrywide" Dodd will cost us over 1 Trillion per year! There is no way this would be sustainable and after the reality sets in, the rationing and cut backs would be a horrible reality. Non life-threatening surgeries would be gone or with a waiting list years long and any dental elective surgery forget it now. The government runs the Post Office, imagine the lines at the government clinic with the same rude union government people who cannot be fired but by act of Congress. It is a nightmare that needs to be stopped, hence my anger at the GOP.

Our private health care is the best in the world. We are the healthiest in the world. There are ways to make it even better and affordable. Number one is tort reform. Tort reform would make it more difficult for people like the woman that spilled McDonald's coffee on herself to sue for huge settlements. A "the loser pays" court costs provision, would deter alot of the most insidious lawsuits that make insurance rates rise. Second, is deregulation in the insurance industry. For example if your company has facilities in 12 states each one of those facilities has a different insurance plan even if it is the same national insurance company. Insurance companies are not allowed to have nationwide blocs. Only state by state. Imagine if all employees of say Ford Motor could be under the same plan no matter what state. It would provide alot bigger bloc of people and as everyone knows if you buy in bulk you get a discount. Same thing works in health care as it does at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart. The government is responsible for not allowing these suggestions to create their magic in the free market, then they claim they are going to save us all. It's a lie and soon to be a tragedy for all of us. Especially our children and grand children.

Where are the voices on Capitol Hill screaming that the American people are about to get the shaft of all shafts? It disgusts me. Instead most of the GOP senators are wanting to put in a counter bill. There shouldn't be a bill to take over health care in the first place! Let alone a counter to disaster. ABC is going to do an infomercial from the White House and every GOP senator and member of congress should be outside the White House protesting. This is about power and control and the GOP is letting the leftists take over. To their credit there are a few who are being somewhat vocal but not nearly enough. Ultimately this is the fault of the American people, elections have consequences. If there was ever a time to elect conservatives 2010 is it. Otherwise, we are doomed for the scrap heap of history and as another has been like the UK. Mike Meyers in the Austin Powers movies made fun of Austin's bad teeth. The sad thing is that it's the truth. Dental care is a luxury for the very wealthy there.
